### What is SimAPI?
Engineering simulation has evolved from its origins of mainframe computers and punch cards for simple analyses to powerful desktop multiphysics simulations described by complex application-specific inputs. Now cloud computing is revolutionizing the possibilities of simulation, but a major hurdle for engineers remains the difficulty of fitting a multitude of new applications into their concept, design and production workflows. 

SimAPI (short for Simulation API) overcomes this hurdle by defining simulations using universal scientific programming languages like python and Matlab. The many benefits of this approach include:
